Barbara Candelaria

Whitefish, MT painter, Barbara Candelaria, was raised in an artistic family along the California coast, which led to a diverse background in the field of art. She quickly became a multi-media artist with formal training in dance choreography, fashion design, sculpture and painting.

Along with 60 other artists, she caravanned to Montana 30 years ago, and participated in the first regional art shows. Drawn to the beauty of the area and skiing, Whitefish was the perfect place to call home. During this period she began focusing on landscape painting, specializing in the medium of watercolor. Her acclaimed paintings of Glacier National Park show her masterful handling of the paint, illuminating the grandeur of this majestic place. Many of her patrons favor the birch scenes that express nature’s beauty. Her solo exhibitions including Kalispell’s Hockaday Museum of Art.

As a world traveler, Barbara’s trips to Europe, Bali, Hawaii and China have enriched her artistic career.
